Dr. John Cooper Clarke

Dr. John Cooper Clarke, the people’s poet came to York Grand Opera House (01/06/2013).

I met him backstage for a chat about his time opening for The Clash & Sex Pistols, how having tuberculosis as a child developed his interest in literature, and where his spark for poetry comes from.

Such an honour to sit down and talk to the man whose words have entertained and educated me for me years.

So I started by asking him where it all began………
